This is Chiapas.
January 1st, 1994, Chipas Mexico. A group of indigenous people known as EZLN (the Zapatista Liberation Army) declare war against the government of Mexico. Ora Et Labora brings us their story, a message for peace, and an invitation to solidarity and a new awareness of the problems of racial descrimination, social exploitation, and of the continuous violation of human rights in countries such as Mexico. "This is Chiapas", by Elio Gelmini, comes to Vagrom courtesy of Independent Exposure.

Marcos' video communique was originally presented as a part of "Freeing The Media", a conference sponsored by the Learning Alliance held in January, 1997, in New York City. This tape was passed to Vagrom as a token of an emerging, international movement to present perspectives ignored or misrepresented by the corporate dominated "global" media.
