I hadn&#8217;t heard either that one of                 the best laundromat-cafes in Seattle, <a href=\"http:\/\/seattle.citysearch.com\/profile\/10796492\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sit                 &#8216;n&#8217; Spin, has also closed<\/a>. When I first moved to Seattle                 in 1994, it was a favorite spot of mine, and as Belltown became                 trendy, it, like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vogueseattle.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The                 Vogue<\/a>, looked increasingly out-of-place with brand new construction                 and pricey condominiums and Starbucks\/retail complexes.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t play it, but it turns out a group of people                 in the online community\/game <em>The Sims Online<\/em> has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.siliconvalley.com\/mld\/siliconvalley\/6019958.htm\" target=\"_blank\">created                 their own mafia to fill a leadership vacuum<\/a> in their virtual                 city.<\/p>\n<p>It looks like legal proceedings against Bernie                 Ebbers can continue with a report to be released Monday showing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.quicken.com\/investments\/news_center\/story\/?story=NewsStory\/dowJones\/20030606\/ON200306060135000045.var&amp;column=P0DFP\" target=\"_blank\">Ebbers                 had a direct role in Worldcom wrongdoings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"facebook\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/share.php?u=https:\/\/www.mortie.net\/journal\/index.php\/2003\/06\/06\/camlin-hotel-becomes-a-trendwest-resort\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Share on Facebook\">Share on Facebook<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Seattle landmark has been purchased by Trendwest Resorts: the Camlin hotel is to be turned into an exclusive vacation hotel, and its famous piano bar and one of my favorite lounges, The Cloud Room, is to close.
